How we curate

The 2026 selection is editorial, not an ad directory. We look at portfolio, style and region and include photographers who meet four criteria: a documentary or natural visual language instead of stiff posing, consistent quality across whole reportages (not just single images), an active, current portfolio, and one of the regions in the selection as their working area. No entry is paid for; photographers cannot buy their place, only earn it.
