Style and approach

Mischa Bättig Photography is a wedding photography business based in Steinhausen in the canton of Zug. Behind the camera is a team of four for photo and film: founder Mischa Bättig, two photographers and a videographer. One person covers a small ceremony; for larger gatherings, two or three of them attend.

The team covers a wedding as reportage. Instead of restaging scenes for the camera, it records what happens on the day anyway, from a quiet moment while getting ready to the last dance. Any direction is about where to go, not how to look.

Mischa Bättig is usually the first point of contact before the wedding, the first to arrive in the morning and, when needed, the drone pilot. A wedding film is only offered together with the photo reportage, so that one practised team works on the day rather than two who meet there for the first time. First meetings take place at the studio in Steinhausen or by video call. The team mainly works in Central Switzerland, Zurich, Aargau and Ticino.
